Zedtown: Last Haven Final Briefing

Just a precious few sleeps until Zedtown: Last Haven. Here’s everything you need to know and bring on Saturday – all the better to play your part as the world burns.

19 years have passed since a State Of Emergency was declared. In a despairing post-apocalyptic world where the undead roam, rumours of a Last Haven have spread like wildfire: On a distant island paradise, the powerful and privileged live in splendour, free from infection and the merciless zombie horde. Their enigmatic leader, Magnus, has invited all remaining survivors to participate in the first inaugural Blood Games. On December 9, survivors will battle it out against each other (and the undead) across two colossal stadiums, for their chance to join Magnus in his fabled island city.

Is this our last hope? Is this the Last Haven?

Registration takes place at 2pm for the day game and 6pm for the night game in the Allianz Stadium Forecourt (in the bottom left of the map).

Once at Registration, all you need to do is line up in the Faction you wish to join and collect your dog tag. Then, using the Zedtown app (details below), you will be able to scan your dog tag to register yourself into the game.

After you are registered, make your way into Allianz Stadium and prepare for the game.  We recommend stretching and sending messages to your loved ones. It may be the last time you see them alive…

The games itself will begin with a briefing about an hour after registration opens, with the final evacuation and prizes occurring at about 6pm and 10pm.

There are busses from Central Station to just near Allianz Stadium and parking is at the Entertainment Quarter (in the bottom right of the map).

As mentioned, those with an iPhone or Android will be able to download the app from their respective stores. Once that’s done, you will be prompted to either sign in, or register an account.

This allows you to scan your faction dog tag: then… voila! You’re all set!

Note: Those without iPhone or Android but a smart phone can still access the web app via playzedtown.com.

All players will be able to choose their Factions on the day. Just line up in the Faction line you wish to join. If you would like inspiration in how to dress, you can find some ideas here.

Note: There is a capacity for each Faction, to ensure an even split across the game, so if you want to be guaranteed a certain Faction get there on time.

At the bare minimum, you’ll need to bring the following:

  • Some kind of foam dart blaster, or some rolled-up socks.
  • A good pair of running shoes.

We recommend you bring the following to fully enjoy Zedtown:

  • Water and snacks to help last out the day.
  • A smartphone to access our dedicated app. A battery extender is also a good idea.
  • Extra ammo for your blaster. We provide some ammo drops, and there’s often lots to scavenge but preparation aids survival!
  • Anything else you think would be fun! We’ve had people bring extra zombie make-up, secondary zombie costumes, walkie talkies, automated turret blasters, banners for forts. Use your imagination!

Please stay within the playable game zone at all times. Registration and induction will take place in the Allianz Stadium Forecourt.

(Please note, faction bases are not listed on the map. This is intentional. We’ll be pushing the location of individual bases to each faction member via our app when the game begins. It’s up to you to find the others!)

St Johns Ambulance is on site and will be set up next at the Zombie Hub in the Allianz Stadium Forecourt.

(Also, this is a good time to remember that part of the terms of our ticket sales is that we all play at our own risk, so try not to do something crazy that will get yourself hurt!)

Our players are generally so good at cleaning up after themselves, please keep it up. Trashing the venue is going to be one of the quickest ways we get kicked out of the venue and not be invited back.

We’ve spoken about this at length on the blog, in the rules and on Facebook but as a final remember performance-enhancing modifications are not allowed at Zedtown. Only purely cosmetic non-mechanical/non-internal mods are allowed. If you’re concerned your blaster may not pass this ruleset talk to a mod and bring a stock out-of-box blaster as a backup.
